SOCIAL BOWLS 20/1/2022
Thursday was a dull windy morning. We played on the undercover green, but it was hard to escape from the rain with all the wind. We had a break for a short time, till the wind and rain subsided and then we went back out to finish our game.
We played to a different format, we chose a card which was turned upside down and it had the rink number marked in the colour for the side we were playing with. The team with the BEST SCORE was on rink 16, A. Macauley, S. Gill & M. Baleinavetau. The team with the LOWEST SCORE was on rink 17, L. Duncan, B. Waddington & Y. Buxton. The team with the MOST ENDS was on rink 17, R. Marker, M. Spencer & K. Leo. The team with the LEAST ENDS was on rink 16, W. Meath, R. Read & G. Saunders.
There will be coaching lessons provided from Saturday 29th January, for anyone who needs help with any aspect of their game. Put your name down on the sheet in front of the office.
Thank you to the ladies who brought in all the lovely goodies for the Trade Table last week.

SOCIAL BOWLS & CHRISTMAS BREAK-UP PARTY 9/12/2021

Thursday, the Women’s Bowling Club had their Christmas Break-up Party, it was our last day of bowls for 2021. We played bowls in the morning and then came in for our Christmas Party and lunch.
We all had a wonderful day. The ladies all wore their Christmas outfits and sang and danced to the music being played, while we played bowls. We played fours and every second end was different to a normal game. We all had our photos taken with Santa, who turns up every year, rain, hail or shine and does a great job and gave out bags of lollies. Nathan the Green Keeper, took a large photo of all the ladies who had been playing on the green. He ended up taking half a dozen photos, with all different cameras given to him by the ladies. It nearly ended up a fulltime job. Thank you, Nathan for all you do for us during the year.
We then went in for our Break-up Christmas Party Lunch. The tables looked lovely, decorated with settings for 8 people per table, with wine and orange juice. The meal was excellent, we had roast pork or turkey, served with mixed vegetables, baked potato, pumpkin and gravy. Followed by plumb pudding or pavlova for dessert. Thanks to the Chef Warren and staff for the lovely meal.
After lunch we had our raffles. The first prize was won by Chris Kilby, a lovely quilt made by Janet Ross, by hand. Absolutely beautiful. There were many other prizes won, then we went on to the Lucky Winners of the day. Lucky Lead was L. Duncan, 2nd was D. Allen 3rd was J. Pryke & Skip was M. Baleinavetau. The winning team on the day was on rink 17, L. Duncan, R. Marker, M. Morrison & R. Wadling. The Runners-up were on rink 19, C. Foster. K. Cranfield, K. Leo & L. Caselton.
We also had quite a few visitors for lunch, some we haven’t seen for some time. It was lovely you were able to come and join us and we hope you all enjoyed your day. We also wish Diane Collins, all the best for your move to Taree. I am sure, we will see you at some time in the future.
Bowls has finished now for this year and will resume on Thursday 13th January 2022.
North Haven Women’s Bowling Club, wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Ann joined us for morning tea and we had scones with jam and cream, made by Larry in the Bistro. We all wished her, Goodbye and Good Luck.
After lunch the Ladies Club played Social Bowls against the Men’s Club.
